Managing Director and Senior Editor Michael
Bezdek is an award- winning journalist who since the
1980s directed the news operations for the Associated
Press in New Jersey and in Boston. During his tenure at
the Associated Press, Mr. Bezdek played a key role in
coverage of major stories such as the Tylenol poisonings,
the discovery of the Titanic, the emergence of the Internet.
He has been a college lecturer on journalism for many
years, most recently at Boston University.
Robin Estrin, consultant and senior writer,
covered many major stories as a senior reporter in the
Boston bureau of The Associated Press, where she specialized
in the areas of education, business and politics. She
began her daily journalism career with two mid-size
papers in Massachusetts, followed by a stint in Washington,
DC, covering political issues for The Capital Times
of Madison, WI. Ms. Estrin is a graduate of Amherst
College and earned a master's degree from Northwestern
University's Medill School of Journalism. In the past
couple of years she has won fellowships to the Hechinger
Institute and the Casey Journalism Center.
Paul Sagan, Account Manager and senior writer,
has more than 15 years of experience in corporate and
marketing communications and investor relations for
agencies, public companies, and consultancies. Previously
Mr. Sagan served as vice president with Sharon Merrill
Associates, a leading New England investor relations
and communications agency. He has extensive experience
in public company communications and initial public
offerings and has held senior communications positions
at Thermo Electron Corporation, Allmerica Financial
and Camp Dresser & McKee. Mr. Sagan is also skilled
in communicating highly technical information to the
general public. While at Thermo Electron, he was responsible
for the communications strategy for the IPO’s of eight
subsidiary companies involved in various aspects of
the analytical instrumentation market, including optical
spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, bioinstrumentation,
test and measurement, photonics and process controls.
Wayne Taylor, Associate Writer, is a seasoned
corporate communications professional with more than
20 years of accomplishments in the fields of executive
speechwriting, media and investor relations, crisis
communications, and internal communications, chiefly
within the financial services industry. As communications
director for Fidelity’s institutional brokerage businesses,
Mr. Taylor conceived and executed a global internal
communications program across five business units located
in the U.S., United Kingdom and Germany. The centerpiece
of that program was an Intranet site that integrated
business metrics, product details and client marketing
data with general Fidelity company news. He established
the media relations function at Bank of Boston and,
throughout the decade of the ’80s, directed that effort
for the region’s then-largest banking company, providing
public relations and crisis communications counsel to
bank management at a time of unprecedented change in
the financial services industry. Mr. Taylor is a former
journalist who began developing his communications skills
as an intelligence analyst during the Vietnam conflict.
He was a general assignment reporter for a New Hampshire
daily newspaper and a part-time correspondent for the
Associated Press during the early 1970s. He entered
the public relations profession in 1976. A graduate
of the University of New Hampshire, Mr. Taylor holds
a B.A. in English Literature.
Jane Bradley, Associate Writer, has more than
two decades’ experience as a writer, editor and press
relations coordinator. A Vassar College graduate, her
work has appeared in The New York Times and the Boston
Globe as well as the Charlottesville Daily Progress
where she began her career, focusing on educational
and medical topics. She was also lifestyle editor for
The Princeton Packet, Princeton, NJ, newspaper chain.
Most recently, she has contributed Web-based articles
for Oxygen Media, an Internet and cable television production
company founded by Geraldine Laybourne and Oprah Winfrey.
Lorie King Rogers, Associate Writer, has over
twenty years’ professional experience as a writer, editor,
photojournalist and communications consultant. A graduate
of Emerson College with a bachelors degree in communications,
she has worked as a copywriter, photographer and layout
artist for Stock Car Racing and Open Wheel magazines,
as an editor in the internal communications department
of Raytheon Company’s Missile Systems Division headquarters
and as a copywriter at WKNE AM/FM, Keene NH. For the
past ten years she has been the principal at Writeaway
communications consultancy, collaborating with Raytheon
Company, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, NYNEX,
the John Hancock Companies and a wide range of small
and mid-size companies, medical institutions, not-for-profits
and educational institutions.
Bonnie Wiliams, Associate Writer, has more
than 20 years' experience in communications and non-profit
management. She is managing editor of a quarterly publication
for the world wide information technology company, SAIC.
She was the executive director of the Arlington (Virginia)
Symphony Orchestra for six years during the 1990's,
and an account executive with T. Baught & Company, a
Washington, D.C. marketing and communications firm in
the mid- to late 1980's. As a freelance writer, she
has written a wide variety of pieces including trade
publication cover stories, a how-to manual for prospective
home owners in lower income brackets and a collection
of stories about childhood during the Great Depression.
She actively volunteers in programs promoting the arts
for children, and has played a leading role in community
arts and environmental projects.
Mary T. Mulkerin, Associate Writer, has over
fourteen years’ experience as a writer, corporate communications
manager and strategic public relations consultant. Ms.
Mulkerin earned an undergraduate degree in Economics
from Trinity College, Washington, DC, and worked initially
as a sales analyst at Saloman Brothers, Inc., followed
by two years writing and Editing copy at Simon & Schuster.
She later worked as a senior writer in the corporate
communications department of Fidelity Investments, managed
media relations for Fidelity Institutional Brokerage
Group and served as Manager of Corporate Communications
at the Boston Stock Exchange. Since 1996, she has worked
independently, writing and providing media relations
counseling and services to such companies as Fidelity
Investments and Talbots. She has also developed marketing
and press materials for a wide range of start- ups and
dotcom companies.
Anne Thompson, Associate Writer, has fourteen
years’ experience as a writer, journalist and editor.
She earned a bachelors degree with honors in English
at Vassar College and a masters degree in Journalism
from the University of Missouri and has worked as a
reporter and editor for the Associated Press in Boston
and as editor and supervisor of the international desk
at AP headquarters in New York. She was a foreign correspondent
based in Berlin, covering Germany and Eastern Europe
and covered the conflict in Kosovo, traveling frequently
to Belgrade and to Pristina. Additionally, she worked
as a freelance writer in Beijing, China and as an editor
at the China Daily, mainland China’s only English language
newspaper. Other freelance assignments have included
work for the Kansas City Star, the Detroit Free Press
and the Far East Economic Review. Ms. Thompson is currently
editing projects for Harvard University’s development
office and the University’s School of Design.
Constance Hubbell, a founding partner and chief
executive officer of getpress.com, is founder and president
of The Hubbell Group, Inc., a full-service provider
of public relations and investor relations. Ms. Hubbell
has extensive corporate and agency experience and a
broad background in media relations, financial relations,
public affairs and special events. Prior to founding
The Hubbell Group, she was director of media relations
for Fidelity Investments, the world's largest mutual
fund company, and she previously was chief spokesperson
and vice president of media relations for Bank of Boston.
Robert Skelly, a founder and chief operating
officer of getpress.com, was a longtime vice president
of Lexington, Mass.- based Raytheon Co., the nation's
third largest defense contractor. At Raytheon, Mr. Skelly
handled a number of major public relations issues and
was the company's lead executive during Operation Desert
Storm and the subsequent Congressional hearings on the
Patriot missile's performance in the Gulf.
Loretta Healy, Esq., a founder, senior vice
president and corporate counsel of getpress.com, brings
an extensive background in corporate and securities
law to our enterprise. She also has broad experience
in government and public affairs. Ms. Healy previously
managed the business law department at the Boston law
firm Glovsky, Tarlow & Milberg. Before entering legal
practice, she worked in the national political arena,
serving as assistant political director of a Washington-based
political action committee and also on the national
campaign staff of the 1980 Carter/Mondale Presidential
Committee.
